From LovelyThingsNC: If you love the views and fun of this mountain vineyard, which look amazing, then we also suggest a trip to Sky Top Orchard. Only 30 minutes SW of Point Lookout, this a u-pick orchard (season begins July 20, 2018), general store, panoramic mountain views, and lots of things for a family fun visit. However, if your not interested in climbing another mountain, then be sure to drive over to Hendersonville (just 20 minutes from Point Lookout). They have a wonderful downtown, with shops for every taste. Be sure to stop at Mike’s On Main for an Egg Cream.

  1. Thanks for all the sharing of North Carolina wine happenings. I notice you often share events from the NCWine.org website. Unfortunately, most of the wineries do not post their events there. You can find several events at the @NCWine channels on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. If you have certain parts of the state, or types of events, you are most interested in let me know and I can share them with you as I search for content on those social channels.

Just got back from the NC State Fair Wine Competition. The final part of the competition will occur during the state fair (I believe October 19th) with a live judging for the Best in Show awards for Bunch Grapes/Vinifera/(European varietals), Muscadine, and Fruit/Mead/Ciders.

Any questions or ways I can get #NCWine information to you, let me know.
