This festival that will be held next to Jockey’s Ridge State Park in the central Outer Banks town of Nags Head promises plenty of swashbuckling good times and activities and will be a memorable event for young and old salty visitors alike. August 25 -9am-2pm – The Home Grown Arts Festival is hosted by the Kernersville Arts and Crafts Guild. Local artisans set up on the lawn of Körner’s Folly to showcase and sell their creations. Visit for the festival and stay for a tour of the historic house. (Visit Winston-Salem)
Hickory Museum of Arts “Blow Up” Exhibit
Now until November 25th. Blow Up explores the imaginative ways that artists use air as a tool for creating large-scale sculpture and includes imagery that is figurative and abstract. Accessible, yet rich with meaning, these pieces use the perception of space and unexpected materials to open a dialogue about pop culture and social norms. (VisitNC.com)

Sept 8, 2018 – For more than 41 years, the friends and family at Duplin Winery have stomped grapes. Once to make wine and now just for fun! There will be live music you can dance to, exclusive wine tastings and a grape-stomping contest. (NC Wine)
