The Little Known Observatory With Views That Are Second To None

August 25 – 10:00 a.m. – Four Oaks. Hear the roar of cannon fire! Starr’s Battery and the Carolina Living History Guild will show how artillery regiments loaded and fired during the Civil War. Infantry displays by the 27th NC Co. D will showcase a common soldier’s daily life. Demonstrations will occur throughout the day. (NCDCR)
Wine/Food
Sept 8, 2018 – For more than 41 years, the friends and family at Duplin Winery have stomped grapes. Once to make wine and now just for fun! There will be live music you can dance to, exclusive wine tastings and a grape-stomping contest. (NC Wine)

September 7 & 8 – 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 .m. – Members will be exhibiting bed quilts, wall hangings, art quilts and other items. A favorite event is the bed turning where vintage quilts from the Appalachian area will be presented and their stories told. (Quilters Travel Companion)
