Winston-Salem Quilts 2018

The 2018 Winston-Salem Quilt Show was full of surprises and featured over 150 or more juried quilts, wall hangings, and wearables. The event hosted a special exhibit of Bonnie Hunter’s Mystery Quilts. Everyone loves Bonnie’s scrappy style and those traveling to the show got to see her beautiful quilts up close and personal. Also, Patti Cline and Cindy Page from Quiltersgalley.net presented their “Show & Tell” of about 50 quilts.

I always love walking the floor at these shows, looking at quilts and talking with vendors. Some of the those at the show included Knit One Smock Too – quilting, kits, yarn, fabric, Mountain Top Fibers – hand-dyed yarns from angora goats and rabbits, and U Can Quilt – pre-measured custom cut kits, ready to sit and sew, Angel Oak Stitchery who brought 350 bolts of fabric, and Kim Dolan Quilt Art – painted, quilt-inspired artwork, furniture, accessories.

While the show featured a number of demonstrations offering tips and techniques I was co-manning a booth for our Salisbury Rowan Quilter’s Guild selling raffle tickets, and unable to attend any of them. Still, I had a wonderful time at the Winston-Salem Quilt Show and got to see some truly amazing work. Enjoy the slideshow—
